MADISON, Wis. The positive percentage of new COVID-19 tests in Wisconsin has once again dropped Monday, according to the state Department of Health Services.
DHS officials said the seven-day positivity rate of new tests by person has decreased to 26.5%. The seven-day equivalent for total tests by day continues to be in the single digits, with Monday’s percentage at 9%.
State and county health officials recorded an additional 1,620 cases of the virus, which is well below the seven-day rolling average of 2,816. The state’s lifetime total has reached 458,973 confirmed cases, and roughly 35,000, or 7.7% of those cases remain active.
At least 4,514 have died of coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic. DHS officials said 48 more people have also been hospitalized Out of the state’s 11,034 hospital beds, 19% of beds are available for new patients.
