Monday’s total is the lowest single-day increase for the county since March 9.
Pennsylvania added 2,399 positives over the two days 1,376 on Sunday and 1,023 on Monday for a statewide total of 1,174,687. Monday marked the state’s lowest single-day increase in new cases since Oct. 5.
The county also also had 100 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,677. Across Pennsylvania, there were 9,929 new negatives for a total of 4,467,488.
According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 18 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, an increase of two since Saturday. One is in intensive care and none are ventilators.
Pennsylvania added 2,610 positives for a statewide total of 1,172,288.
The county also also had 75 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,577. Across Pennsylvania, there were 7,906 new negatives for a total of 4,457,559.
Centre County’s positivity rate declined for the fifth straight week. For the week of April 30-May 6, the county’s PCR testing positivity rate was 6.8%, down from 7% the previous seven days, according to the updated
DOH early warning monitoring dashboard. Pennsylvania’s statewide positivity rate was 6.6%, down from 7.6% the previous week and marking a decline for the third consecutive week.
According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 16 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County with none in intensive care or on ventilators, which is unchanged from Friday.
Centre County reported 25 new COVID-19 cases on Friday to bring its total to 16,524, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 2,986 positives for a statewide total of 1,169,678. According to the health department, “one lab is still getting caught up with backlogged data and another lab submitted just over 100 test results dating back to more than a month ago.”
The county also also had 123 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,502. Across Pennsylvania, there were 10,811 new negatives for a total of 4,449,653.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 16 COVID-19 inpatients, one fewer than on Thursday. The patients range in age from 48 to 93, a hospital spokesperson said. MNMC has had 17 COVID related admissions and an average daily census of 19 COVID positive inpatients the first week in May.

The county also also had 74 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,379. Across Pennsylvania, there were 9,124 new negatives for a total of 4,438,842.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 17 COVID-19 inpatients, two fewer than on Wednesday. The patients range in age from 48 to 93, a hospital spokesperson said. According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, no COVID-19 patients in Centre County are in intensive care or on a ventilator.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,047 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 84 since Wednesday, with 448 patients in intensive care [-19] and 235 on ventilators [-23].
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 220 for the eighth consecutive day.
Pennsylvania added 2,597 positives for a statewide total of 1,164,216.
Among Centre County’s cases, 15,020 are confirmed and 1,452 are probable. Statewide, 979,486 are confirmed and 184,730 are probable.
The county also also had 138 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,305. Across Pennsylvania, there were 7,311 new negatives for a total of 4,429,718.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 19 COVID-19 inpatients, two more than on Tuesday. The patients range in age from 37 to 93. According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, two COVID-19 patients in Centre County are in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,131 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 41 since Tuesday, with 467 patients in intensive care [-13] and 258 on ventilators [-5].
