A+ Charter s open enrollment begins for 2021-2022

A+ Charter Schools has launched open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year for grades 7-11. The school is committed to meeting the needs of modern-day students through project-based learning, as well as Advisory and Academic Success Groups. Students engage in lessons and units designed to promote not only the development of academic skills, but also critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and citizenship. All students are issued a Chromebook each year as a tool for learning and to promote 21st century skills. For students in grades 11-12, the school is partnering with Central Arizona College so students can take advantage of the Early College Program and earn free college credits while in high school. Additionally, internship opportunities will be available for juniors and seniors.

Cerritos College Offers a Low Cost Route to a College Degree Share this: STAFF REPORT Cerritos College will launch their Early College Program [ECP] this summer in partnership with three local high schools: Bellflower High School [Bellflower Unified School District], Norwalk High School [Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District], and Whitney High School [ABC Unified School District]. Currently there are thirty freshman students in each high school who will be participating. The ECP provides high school students the opportunity to earn up to 46 UC/CSU transferrable units. Students who finish the entire program will earn a high school diploma while completing the entire Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC). This is a series of courses that California community college students can complete to satisfy freshman and sophomore level general education requirements before transferring to most colleges and majors at CSU and UC campuses. College Town: Anna Maria College marks 75th anniversary

PAXTON – Anna Maria College is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and is marking the occasion with a slate of community events and programs, the school recently announced. The celebration will culminate at the college’s annual Service and Success Gala, where the 2021 recipient of the Presidential Award, which recognizes alumni and supporters of the school, will be chosen. “It speaks to the wisdom of the Sisters of St. Anne in establishing an institution that associates a quality education with social responsibility,” said Anna Maria President Mary Lou Retelle. “The challenges in today’s world and the recent pandemic particularly affirms the importance of service to community. It is more critical than ever to have a citizenry that is well-educated, ethically grounded and ready to serve and we especially honor those alumni working toward the public good.”
