A woman has been arrested following the death of a baby at an Oran Park home on Thursday.
An Ambulance NSW spokesman said paramedics were called to the house in Sydney’s southwest about 4.10pm to reports of a near-drowning.
Police were also called to the home on Seaborn Avenue about 4.40pm responding to reports of a concern for welfare.
“Upon arrival, officers attached to Camden Police Area Command found a baby boy, 6 months old, unconscious and unresponsive,” NSW Police statement said.
Emergency services were called to a property in Oran Park about 4.40pm.
Officers found a baby boy, six months old, unconscious and unresponsive.
He was given CPR and rushed to Campbelltown Hospital but he was unable to be revived.
A woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Camden Police Station.
She is currently assisting with inquiries.
A crime scene has been established.
Investigations are underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
