ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol said one driver was killed after a vehicle collision early Friday morning.
Troopers say it happened at approximately 3:10 a.m., on Old Elloree Road near Herman Drive.
According to investigators, the driver of a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse ran off the road to the left, hit a culvert, then struck a utility pole.
Authorities say the vehicle then went airborne and overturned.
Highway Patrol says the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected.
Troopers are investigating this incident and the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim.

The crash happened at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Old Elloree Road near Herman Drive, about three miles east of Orangeburg, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell.
Troopers say a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling north on Old Elloree Road when the vehicle ran off the road to the left, struck a culvert, glanced a utility pole, then went airborne and overturned.
Driver dies after hitting several trees on SC Highway 70 in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a driver is dead after a collision on SC Highway 70 on Tuesday.
Troopers say it happened near Fogle Pond Road at 8:50 a.m.
According to investigators, the driver of a 2008 Nissan Armada ran off the right side of the road and hit a ditch.
After hitting the ditch, authorities say the vehicle overturned and hit several trees.
Highway Patrol says the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim as Highway Patrol continues to investigate.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle in Orangeburg Wednesday night. Troopers say it happened on North Road near Willington Drive after 7 p.m. According to investigators, the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle while walking across North Road, and died on scene.
Authorities say the driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Highway Patrol and the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
