It’s hard to understand when someone just abandons their 13 year old beautiful, white German shepherd but sad to say that is what happened to this fur baby named Sam. He was brokenhearted from being discarded by his family and his prospects for adoption were very slim.
Until Sam had captured the attention of 93-year old Navy veteran George Johnson, who had learned about Sam through the Orange County Rescue. All that needed to happen to save the pup was a telephone call.
George had a soft spot in his heart for German shepherds, especially the white ones. So, when his beloved white German shepherd passed away, he reached out to the Orange Country rescue to see if they had a senior white shepherd he could adopt, but they didn t. Luckily, they did know of a senior white German Shepherd in need of saving but he was located at a rescue in Arizona. The volunteers at the Orange County Rescue drove to Arizona and transported Sam back to Orange County
