Empowering Laboratory Professionals on Quality Management Systems during the Training of Trainers

Port Louis - Thirty-two laboratory professionals responsible in the establishment and implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) have been trained during a five-day training workshop prior to the implementation of the Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) in Mauritius. The training of trainers aimed at building capacity of diagnostics laboratories and improve quality diagnostic service in the country. The training was conducted by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in close collaboration with the World Health Organization.
The training of trainers, held virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic, was facilitated by three consultants who shared knowledge and skills on the 18 Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) using teach back methodology via the Zoom platform. The acquisition will be a combination of cash and stock deal. The target entity is a debt free company. Cash consideration will be Rs. 511 crore and Metropolis will issue up to 4,95,000 equity shares of Face Value Rs.2/- each on preferential basis, subject to Shareholders approval, to
the Promoter Group of Hitech. The Cash consideration will be funded through internal accruals and Debt of up to Rs. 300 crore.
The acquisition will allow Metropolis to increase its B2C business in focus cities of Chennai and

Metropolis will acquire 100% equity of Dr. Ganesan s Hitech Diagnostic Centre in a combination of cash and stock deal. The entity is a debt free company. This acquisition is expected to be completed within 3 months.

A 2019 government deal with a private venture to improve lab services in Albania ended up complicating efforts to expand COVID-19 testing, critics say, and is causing concern over the long-term impact on publicly-funded diagnostics and scientific research.
