A NUMBER of North West employers were amongst those awarded gold for supporting the Armed Forces Community. 18 organisations in the north-west were among the 140 who received the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award for their outstanding support towards the Armed Forces community, Defence Minister Leo Docherty announced. Representing the highest badge of honour, Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards are awarded to those that employ and support those who serve, veterans and their families. This year’s awardees brings the total number of Gold holders to 493. Among those in the north-west included: Armed Forces Community HQ, Healthier Heroes CIC, Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) and Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Trust.
