Altru Board chair Compton to retire, Thingelstad elected new chair

Kris Compton, who is currently serving as acting Chair of the Board has completed her term and will retire on May 31, 2021. Karen Thingelstad has been elected to serve as the new Chair of the Board, effective April 26, 2021. Kris Compton has served on Altru’s Board of Directors since 2009, and previously served on the Altru Health Foundation Board from 2007-2009. She is the retired Chief Strategy Officer for Alerus Financial. “Kris’ impact on local healthcare over her 14 years as a board member is beyond measure,” shares Dave Molmen, interim CEO of Altru. “She has skillfully guided the health system through a time of great change in healthcare, positioning us for continued success in serving the region. We wish her all of the best in her retirement and thank her for her significant contributions to Altru.”
