Protect Your Children Against Abuse, Aisha Buhari Urges Parents – Igbere TV

❚ You already voted!   First lady Aisha Buhari has called on parents to take responsibility for their children and protect them from abuse and other social vices. Mrs Buhari stated this on Thursday in her Sallah message to Nigerians.   “On the occasion of Eid el Fitr, which celebrates the end of this year’s Ramadan fast, I congratulate all Muslims and pray Allah to accept our supplications,” she said in the message posted to Instagram. “I convey my message of goodwill to Nigerians and use this opportunity to strongly appeal to parents to take responsibility for their children by guiding and protecting them against abuse and other social vices.

The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, and some of their children were also at the prayers. Other top government officials including Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno were also in attendance. In attendance were the president’s family members, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Major-General Babagana Monguno, Chief of Staff to the president, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and other presidential aides. The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, was also seen with her daughters during the two raka’at (units) prayers. President Buhari had on May 9 again announced a ban on traditional Sallah homage Aso Rock by religious, community and political leaders. The President, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, encouraged such leaders to be content with modest celebrations at home in view of the COVID-19 pandemic as was the case last year.
