Good evening to all you good Shackers out there. Another summer holiday weekend is right around the corner but before I leave the office for a few days, I want to make some more progress with skankcore64. This is an on-going project that I ve started to finish every game released for the Nintendo 64 in my home region of North America. Don t miss a minute of the action when it starts later tonight at
9 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET.
Episode 71 - The people person s paper people
Tonight after the Stevetendo show, I ll have more retro Nintendo goodness in store with the continuation of Paper Mario. I started Paper Mario on the previous episode of skankcore64 after finally getting Mace: The Dark Age out of my way. I wanted to embark on a proper adventure again since I haven t tackled a large-scale game in a little while. The N64 isn t home to many RPGs and I ve already finished one of its most iconic, if not lackluster, role-playing games when I conquered Quest 64.

Talking Point: When Was The Last Time A Game Cracked Your Top Five?
Share:
As Abraham Lincoln once said, boy, do I love a good video game. But since his time, how many of those video games have actually been life-changingly good? How many video games can we truly describe as The Shawshank Redemption of shmups or The Shrek 2 of JRPGs ? Well, I put that answer to you, dear readers.
We all have different taste in games, but we all (hopefully) also have a Top Five of all-time, engraved into our brains alongside our favourite food (egg) and our favourite operating system (Windows 95) as markers of our personality. Mine, for reference, usually includes Fantasy Life, Ghost Trick, Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Legend of Zelda: Majora s Mask, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, but depending on my mood, sometimes Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney sneaks in there, too.

Sisi Stringer is Kicking Butt in Her New Mortal Kombat Role
The Brisbane-bred actress gives us the tea on her role as Mileena
It’s not often that we get to see a Black woman play a fictional badass warrior princess who teleports. That’s exactly what audiences get in
Mortal Kombat, based on the famous video game series, which introduces us to Aussie-bred actress Sisi Stringer.
Though she’s previously been seen in the 2020 films
Children of the Corn and
Bloody Hell, Stringer will be playing Mileena in the action film released this past Friday and is the first Black woman to do so in an Asian-dominated cast. As one of two Black characters, alongside Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Stringer recognizes the responsibility of representing young Black women who see her as a pillar of fearlessness and confidence on and off-screen.
