Is the US logistics industry really facing a dire shortage of commercial truck drivers? This question is up for debate after the global health pandemic of 2020 reshuffled the labor deck.
On Monday, Coyote Logistics and Emsi released an in-depth research report, “Drivers Wanted,” that covers the present and future of the truck driver labor pool. The report combines labor market data with on-the-ground insights from the transportation and logistics industry.
Coyote Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) provider with a global network of over 70,000 carriers and 14,000 shippers. Emsi is an economic data and analytics firm based in Moscow, Idaho.

On Sept. 27, The New York Times released a bombshell report on President Donald Trump’s tax records. After looking through more than two decades worth of tax return data, the Times reported that Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years that were examined. According to the report, he did pay income taxes in 2016 and 2017 in the amount of $750 each year.
Trump questioned the accuracy of the Times report in a Sept. 28 tweet: “I paid many millions of dollars in taxes but was entitled, like everyone else, to depreciation & tax credits.”

Cities across the nation are following a corporate trend to hire diversity and inclusion officers to harness the benefits of a diverse workforce.
With 60 percent of Fortune 500 companies employing diversity and inclusion officers in 2012, major cities like New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Antonio and now some of Oklahomaâs largest cities have followed their lead.
