Police investigating after large pile of speared fish illegally dumped in north Phoenix
While spearfishing is lawful and carp has unlimited take in Arizona with a fishing license, Phoenix PD is investigating for illegal dumping violations.

PHOENIX Phoenix police are investigating an illegal dumping incident involving a large pile of dead fish found in north Phoenix on Monday.
Officers responded to the area of 15th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road on Monday afternoon for a report of illegal dumping. Phoenix PD said when officers arrived, they found a large pile of trash, including several dead fish.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ â Good Samaritans to the rescue! A great horned owl is now recovering at Liberty Wildlife in Phoenix after getting trapped in barbed wire near Fountain Hills.
Jeff Miller, a building inspector from the Town of Fountain Hills, was driving home from work down the Beeline Highway near Shea Boulevard Monday when he saw the bird. While most drivers just drove past the owl, Miller turned around and came back to try and free the bird.
Marion Unit 2 School Board Adds Friday s To In-Person Instruction. The Marion Unit 2 school board voted to have in person instruction five days a week, starting later this month.
At a special meeting Monday night the Marion unit 2 school board discussed if they should change the school schedule to include Friday for in person instruction.
Student in the district that choose in person instruction currently attend class Monday through Thursday, with Friday being a full remote day.
Parents like Jessie Wallace are in favor of adding the extra day of in person.
“Nine more Fridays means a lot to my kids, nine more Fridays would do so much for their social and emotional health, for their mental well-being.”
Family warns pet owners about coyotes after their dog was nearly killed
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (KPHO/KTVK) Just a few seconds was all it took, says a Scottsdale family, for their dog to end up in the jaws of a coyote.
The attack happened right in their backyard in a neighborhood just south of Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard.
“He was so lucky, literally so lucky. He was so brave, you know, trying to fight the coyote,” said dog owner May Algebori.
Algebori said she still can’t bring herself to revisit the spot in her backyard where little Mickey, her 4-year-old Shih Tzu-poodle mix, was nearly killed.

Animal experts say that it’s not uncommon to see javelinas running around in the desert and many of them have become accustomed to urban life, but keep in mind, the moms with babies can get defensive.
