COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa. (AP and KMTV) â Authorities have arrested a 67-year-old registered sex offender from Nebraska in the 1983 slaying of an Iranian exchange student. Bud Leroy Christensen is being held in the Douglas County Jail in Omaha awaiting transfer to the Pottawattamie County jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on a first-degree murder charge.
He is a suspect in the death of Firozeh Dehghanpour, whose body was found on Aug. 14, 1983, under a bridge north of Council Bluffs.

In a major shift, Des Moines-based Meredith Corp. announced Monday it is selling its television stations to focus exclusively on its iconic print and digital products, including People, Better Homes & Gardens, and Allrecipes.
Its board of directors voted unanimously to sell the company s 17-station broadcasting division, Local Media Group, to Gray Television Inc. for $2.7 billion in cash, according to a news release. The group includes stations in major markets including Kansas City, Missouri; St. Louis; Phoenix; Portland, Oregon; and Atlanta, where Gray is based.
