Gov. DeSantis spoke to attendees at CPAC in Orlando on Friday.
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Conservative Political Action Conference, also known as CPAC, is underway in Central Florida with a number of high-profile conservatives scheduled to take the stage this weekend.
All the speeches culminate with former President Donald Trump s appearance on Sunday, which will be his first public appearance since leaving office more than one month ago.
The conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Orlando with thousands of conservatives from around the country in attendance.
The Conservative Political Action Conference kicks off in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, and former President Trump will be speaking about the future of the Republican Party on Sunday. Aubrey Jewett, a professor of political science at the University of Central Florida, joins "Red and Blue" to preview the event.
“If he is trying to show allegiance to the base of the party then it is not going to be to McConnell,” said Jill Quentzel, a political activist and former broadcaster who lives in Florida. “We’re pretty confused about McConnell right now whether he’s a traitor, whether he’s just a straddler, whether it matters about his wife’s Chinese shipping business.”
Mr. Scott’s mission is both straightforward and complicated: He needs to prevent GOP skirmishes from breaking out into a full-scale civil war that could tear apart the party and sink its chances of winning back a Senate majority.
