On Monday, May 31, 2021, the base will have a 21-gun salute in honor of Memorial Day.Naval Submarine Base New London / Contributed GROTON The Naval Submarine Base New London will host a 21-gun salute in honor of Memorial Day on Monday. The ceremony will be performed at noon Monday by the Saluting Battery from the Support Facility’s Weapons Department. Each member will fire a single round volley at one-minute intervals until the tribute is completed. The salute will take place at the Naval Submarine Support Facility Weapons Compound, but is not open to the public.
