It’s time for an NBA cards rookie watch. Last year, collectors chased endlessly for Zion Williamson and Ja Morant cards. The season before that, it was Luka Doncic and Trae Young. We also have the rising stars from the past two drafts who can make a lasting impact in the NBA, such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyler Herro, among others. For the 2020-21 season, things are a lot different than what they were in previous years.
For one, a lot of people see this year’s draft as a weak class. There weren’t any game-changers or generational talent across the board when the draft was held last year. Nevertheless, collectors everywhere will still do their best to nab those rookie cards for their respective collections. Rather than shoot blindly in the dark, it’s best to take a look at this year’s top rookies and how their in-game performance can carry over to their cards.
The Golden State Warriors are one of the teams in a strong position to engage in a blockbuster deal before the 2021 trade deadline. Aside from having Andrew Wiggins contract for salary-matching purposes, they also possess a young and promising prospect in James Wiseman and future first-round picks. In recent months, they have already been linked to several big names who are expected to be available on the trading block, including All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards.

The start of Andrew Wiggins first full season with the Golden State Warriors on national TV versus Kevin Durant, no less was, in a word, brutal.
Wiggins began 1-for-8 from the field and 0-for-2 from three-point range in a 125-99 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, drawing the ire of the internet. The former No. 1 pick was trending worldwide on Twitter almost immediately, with the accompanying Twitter Moments headline, Golden State shooting guard Andrew Wiggins gets off to a rough start in his regular season debut against the Nets.
