Cold weather alert issued for Clark County homeless shelters Published: January 19, 2021, 10:50am Share: A severe weather alert has been issued by Housing Solution Center and Council for the Homeless for tonight in Clark County. With temperatures forecasted to dip down to freezing, emergency shelters are asked to expand capacity if needed. People in need of shelter can call the Housing Hotline for shelter availability at 360-695-9677. Volunteers are always needed at winter shelters, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the main focus for volunteers this season is to provide food and meals for the winter hospitality overflow sites of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Some Citizens Eligible for Internet and Computer Discounts DOBSON – The Emergency Broadband Benefit will provide some Surry County citizens a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer or tablet from participating providers if they contribute $10-$50 toward the purchase price. The Emergency Broadband Benefit is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household. A household is eligible if one member of the household: • Qualifies for the Lifeline program; • Receives benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, or did so in the 2019-2020 school year;
