Date Time Allens advises Sony Music Publishing on global AC/DC deal Allens has advised Sony Music Publishing on a deal with Australian Music Corporation (part of the Albert Group), granting Sony worldwide publishing rights over AC/DC’s entire catalogue, which includes hits ‘Thunderstruck’, ‘Back in Black’, ‘Highway to Hell’ and ‘TNT’. As part of the deal, Sony also obtained publishing rights over the catalogue of song writing and producing team Vanda, Young & Wright, which includes ‘Friday on my Mind’ by The Easybeats and ‘Love is in the Air’ by John Paul Young. The deal brings AC/DC’s publishing and recording rights together under the Sony banner for the first time. AC/DC is one of only two bands to claim top 10 albums in the 1980s, ’90s, ’00s, ’10s and ’20s.
