3 hospitalized after apartment fire forces tenants to jump from window

PORT HARDY Three people were taken to hospital Sunday night after a fire broke out in an apartment complex in Port Hardy shortly before midnight. The trio sustained injuries as they leapt out of their apartment window, unable to exit through the building’s hallways because of thick smoke. (There were) multiple calls coming in, dispatch told us there were people jumping out of the windows so (it) got the blood rushing, said Port Hardy fire chief Brent Borg. Prince songs and pole-dances: the London International Mime Festival is (quietly) back

Jacqui Beckford was among the highlights of the LIMF s principal five shorts Credit: Anna Arthur The boon of the London International Mime Festival is that – in normal years – some of the greatest exponents of this loosely defined theatrical form convene on the capital to brighten the dreariest month. Fear not!  We still have plenty in our stockpile, with a good supply of new material promised on various websites. Take the National Theatre s digital NT at Home (ntathome.com). Here, you can find perhaps the greatest theatrical production of the past two decades: War Horse. I d been saving this for a rainy day, but I think we can safely assume that day has come. After all, who among us does not feel a bit like Michael Morpurgo s stallion, drafted into battle and made to drag cast-iron cannons through the fields of France during World War I?
