King s Lynn company chooses the East Anglian Air Ambulance as its charity of the year

Bespak by Recipharm has chosen The East Anglian Air Ambulance as its Charity of the Year across its King s Lynn site.
The Air Ambulance is one of three charities which is being helped with The Sick Childrenâs Trust and The Pendleside Hospice being supported across other sites.
Andrew Dawson, Vice President, Finance commented: âThe Bespak by Recipharm Charity Committee are excited to be taking on three new partnerships within our local communities in 2021.

PORT HARDY Three people were taken to hospital Sunday night after a fire broke out in an apartment complex in Port Hardy shortly before midnight. The trio sustained injuries as they leapt out of their apartment window, unable to exit through the building’s hallways because of thick smoke. (There were) multiple calls coming in, dispatch told us there were people jumping out of the windows so (it) got the blood rushing, said Port Hardy fire chief Brent Borg. Borg says around 30 firefighters attended the scene, and those who jumped from the building were out when they arrived, some suffering from injuries.

The boon of the London International Mime Festival is that – in normal years – some of the greatest exponents of this loosely defined theatrical form convene on the capital to brighten the dreariest month. The concomitant drag, though, is you have to leave the warmth of your home, must battle to the venue (not always central) and can be out again within an hour (brevity goes with the habitually, not automatically wordless territory).
So I find myself applauding, if not loudly, then maybe more Marcel Marceau-ishly, the pandemic-curtailed programme of 2021, which shifts the entire shebang online. In terms of novelties – aside from free talks across the fortnight and a plethora of workshops (mostly already signed-up-for) – it’s a much reduced affair this time. I d been saving this for a rainy day, but I think we can safely assume that day has come. After all, who among us does not feel a bit like Michael Morpurgo s stallion, drafted into battle and made to drag cast-iron cannons through the fields of France during World War I?
