Alleged victim of millionaire sailor breaks down

A millionaire sailor made a beeline for a young woman and left her in tears after sexually assaulting her at an exclusive yacht club, a court heard yesterday. The alleged victim said she was in such shock after Peter Bonham Christie, 39, groped her with such force she stopped breathing . The 27-year-old had been attending a drinks reception at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in Knightsbridge, London. Speaking from behind a screen at Isleworth Crown Court, she said she had been introduced to Bonham Christie before going outside for a cigarette with a mutual friend Andrew Sutherland. She said the pair were soon followed by Bonham Christie, who once broke the offshore powerboat world speed record and represented Great Britain in sailing until 2010.

13:14 EDT, 4 March 2021 A powerboating businessman left a woman distressed and shaking after groping her between the legs at the Royal Thames Yacht Club, a jury has heard today. Millionaire Peter Bonham Christie, 39, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the early hours of the morning outside the Knightsbridge club. Today a witness claimed Christie lunged, at the woman while she was smoking outside and grabbed her literally in the crotch area . Christie denies one count of sexual assault. Peter Bonham Christie, 39, is accused of lunging at the 27-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, when she was smoking outside London s Royal Thames Yacht Club. Bonham Christie, of Lymington, Hampshire, whose company specialises in the transportation of classic and luxury cars, pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting the woman on November 30, 2018. Earlier that night the University of Portsmouth graduate had dined at auction house Bonhams, where he had also given a speech and taken a client to five-star Claridge s in Mayfair, Isleworth Crown Court was told.
