He was speaking from his burgeoning cooperative studio business, soon to also be the home of his latest passion, the new non-profit Artflame. Camacho’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in all that he does. Today, it’s obvious that his can-do, self-starter personality has a lot to do with his series of successes. As a teenager, those developing traits weren’t as favorably received. “Growing up in New London… let’s just say I got in trouble a lot,” said Camacho. So much so that his parents sent him to Texas to live with his aunt during high school. Their plan worked. Camacho not only graduated from high school, he also discovered his life’s purpose through music.

Equine therapy helps those with special needs at SoléAna Stables in Alvin

ALVIN, Texas SolÃ©Ana Stables in Alvin, Texas is a very special place for those with special needs. Sasha and Andrew Camacho first started the non-profit riding group after searching for a therapeutic program for their own daughter, Solana, who has Down Syndrome. SolÃ©Ana Stables allows both children and adults with disabilities to engage in occupational, physical and speech therapy, all while riding on horseback. The programs at SolÃ©Ana Stables are led by PATH Intl. certified instructors. We never envisioned something so wonderful, said Sasha Camacho. Every time we come, you see riders that are just determined, that are working so hard to reach their goals, and they re doing it, which is just amazing. When our riders finally reach those goals that for us may be really simple and minor, you can see the smile of their face. You can see their parents light up. There are definitely a lot of happy tears here.
