THE PROSPECT OF Munster appearing in this year’s Rainbow Cup final is somehow still alive, despite what happened against Connacht on Friday in Thomond Park.
Two big refereeing calls went against them, so consequentially did one big result – Connacht winning 24-10. It all means Munster will be watching Benetton Treviso’s results closely over the next month, hoping the Italian side slips up.
Four cyber and electoral system researchers have identified three flaws around the use of electronic voting at the 2020 election for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government.
The researchers said the issues did not affect the outcome of the most recent election but warned that the flaws could be exploited in future to sway voting patterns.
“We are not claiming that corruption occurred, nor that the system was designed with that goal in mind. There certainly were errors undetected by Elections ACT; however,” they said in a submission (pdf) to the ongoing Inquiry into the 2020 ACT Election and the Electoral Act.
Microsoft has added identity and access management capabilities employing GPS among other factors to its Azure Active Directory, a cloud identity solution, to counter sophisticated hacking techniques. Two-factor authentication is no longer sufficient to defend against malicious entry. The GPS-based named locations and filters look at a range of signals for authorized user access.
“People are very focused on taking advantage of identity, it’s become a classic: hackers don’t break in, they log in,” stated Microsoft chief information security officer (CISO) Bret Arsenault.
“The GPS-based named locations and filters for devices enable a new set of scenarios, such as restricting access from specific countries or regions based on GPS location and securing the use of devices from Surface Hubs to privileged access workstations,” added Vasu Jakkal, corporate vice president for Microsoft Security, Compliance and Identity in a blog post.
