Sen. Ron Johnson insisted again last week that he is not a climate change denier, but CNN’s KFile found video of him from just weeks earlier telling a Republican group that it is “bullsh t.”
“I don’t know about you guys, but I think climate change is as Lord Monckton said bullsh t,” the Wisconsin Republican said, without uttering the expletive but mouthing it, and referring to British conservative climate change denier Lord Christopher Monckton. “By the way, it is.”

Republican senate candidate and Hillbilly Elegy author J.D. Vance asked Fox viewers “not to judge me” by his brutal 2016 criticism of Donald Trump who, Vance now says, “was a good president.”
In case you missed the controversy, Vance, running for an open U.S. Senate seat in Ohio, tried to cancel his past attacks on Trump but his deleted tweets were outed last week by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski. Business Insider notes the predicament for Vance, given that he is running a campaign “in the spirt of” Trump.

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks died of a chest injury caused by an errant fireworks mortar blast on Sunday. According to police in Novi, Michigan, the firework tilted slightly and started firing toward partygoers, with one striking Kivlenieks and causing major damage to his heart and lungs. (Initial reports that Kivlenieks died from head injuries sustained during a fall were inaccurate.) There was some minor injury to his exterior, which would lead us to believe that some portion of the firework made contact with him, but we re not really sure if it was a direct hit or whether the percussion from the explosion caused his injuries, Lt.
