The month got off to a tragic start with the worlds of media and entertainment mourning the passing of two broadcasting greats
Following her sudden death at the age of 69, the nation remembered veteran RTÉ presenter Marian Finucane for her trailblazing feminist legacy and for being a formidable, wise, sensitive broadcaster .
Tributes also poured in for RTÉ radio legend Larry Gogan following his death, aged 85. President Michael D. Higgins said Gogan made an indelible impact on Irish music, having promoted both up-and-coming and more established Irish musicians and sharing his infectious enthusiasm and passion for pop and rock music of all kinds.

With the luxury of live music being taken from us over the last few months, legendary radio DJ Dave Fanning will bring viewers at home the next best thing.
Fanning will host a special two-part series, featuring nine up-and-coming and established Irish acts, all of whom had big plans on the live circuit for 2020 – plans that were dashed back in March when the pandemic hit Ireland.
The series will include names such as Soda Blonde, Sorcha Richardson, Mick Flannery, Alex Gough, Somebody’s Child, Andrea Corr, Isaac Butler, The Academic, and Villagers.

RHOA s Kenya Moore has revealed the true extent of her fall-out with former friend Porsha Williams, calling her co-star disgusting .
Fans of the reality show will know that right from the very beginning, the two women have been feuding after Porsha, 39, called Kenya, 49, Miss America instead of Miss USA - a title she won back in 1993.

But viewers shouldn’t hold their breath for the pair to make up anytime soon.
The on-and-off frenemies are very much off in season 13, and Kenya says the ball is in Porsha s court.
Speaking to ET she said: For three years, I considered her friend.

Given that her music has encompassed pop, jazz and world beats as well as the acoustic songs with which she made her name that s no surprise.
But listening to a new box set that charts her formative years, that folk tag is hard to escape, and she knows it. I didn t think folk was a good description of what I was, she says in the liner notes. And then I listened, and it was beautiful. I had this realisation . . . I was a folk singer!
