Defense ministers of Ukraine and Georgia agree on cooperation

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran and Minister of Defense of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze signed a plan of bilateral cooperation between the military agencies of the two countries.
The signing ceremony took place during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by Taran to Georgia. On the first day, the Ministry’s delegation held working meetings with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Minister of Defense of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze. Ukraine and Georgia have common threats and development goals. Our peoples share the aspirations of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Georgia, like Ukraine, seeks to get a NATO Membership Action Plan. We are committed to deepening cooperation to counter regional and global threats more effectively, Taran said, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.

The bankruptcy procedure of JSC AvtoKrAZ (Kremenchuk, Poltava region) could be completed by the end of this year, which will remove the negative impact of this legal position of the company on the defense procurement process, Deputy Prime Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky has told Interfax-Ukraine. The bankruptcy of JSC AvtoKrAZ is a response measure to the threats of its illegal seizure. As far as I know, by the end of this year, all processes related to this procedure must be completed. And this is important, because, and I have repeatedly emphasized this, the current legal situation at the enterprise have a negative impact on the defense procurement process. I hope this issue will soon be removed from the agenda by shareholders and AvtoKrAZ will function normally, Urusky said.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran and Chief of the Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa during the meeting discussed the intensification of interaction between the countries in military and military-technical cooperation.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Qamar Javed Bajwa noted a noticeable increase in the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which resist aggression of the Russian Federation, expressed understanding of Ukraine’s European integration aspirations and assured of its readiness to further support Ukraine in the international arena.
