Get ready to eat! The annual event in Hannibal has a new date in 2021.
The Hannibal Jaycees posted of their Facebook page on December, 11th 2020 that the 17th Annual Wing Ding event had been postponed and to stay tuned for updates, and rescheduling. Well we have been staying tuned and just got the announcement in a press release that the 17th Annual Wing Ding event will be happening on May, 22nd 2021!
The 17th Annual Wing Ding will happen at Tanyard Gardens in downtown Hannibal, and you must be 21 years old to enter the grounds. No word from our friends at the Hannibal Jaycees yet on what, if any, COVID-19 precautions or guidelines there will be for their event. But with it happening outside at Tanyard Gardens, I suspect there wont be major restrictions on the event. Stay up to date with the event by following their Facebook page, CLICK HERE!
Chili Cook-Off another COVID Casualty
The Chili Cook-Off, a longstanding winter tradition in Hannibal, has been cancelled because of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Hannibal Jaycees and their major sponsor, Golden Eagle Distributing, announced they’ve decided to cancel the February event. This would have been the 38
th year for the Chili Cook-Off.
“We are disappointed but look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2022,” said Jaycee Mandi Minor.
Last month, the Hannibal Jaycees announced they have postponed another popular winter event, the Annual Wing Ding. Unlike the Chili Cook-Off, the 17
th Annual Wing Ding will be scheduled for another date when it is safer to have large gatherings. Check the Hannibal Jaycees Facebook page for updates and announcements.
