Gardaí are retracing the steps of a 72-year-old woman found dead in a burnt-out car in woods in North Cork as they continue to question a Limerick man in connection with the killing.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the unlawful killing of a woman found in a burnt-out car in Doneraile, North Cork on Thursday.
The man, who is aged in his 60s, is currently detained at Fermoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Bereavement support campaign is launched for Kildare and west Wicklow

The HSE has launched a new bereavement support campaign. The new programme includes a 10 week online information campaign to profile and raise awareness of bereavement supports and services that are available to people living in Kildare and west Wicklow.
The campaign has been funded by the HSE under ‘Connecting for Life, Kildare and west Wicklow’ and will profile the work of national and local partner organisations including: Irish Hospice Foundation, Kildare Youth Service, Anam Cara, the Curragh FRC, the Irish Childhood Bereavement Network, HUGG, Barnardos and Turas Le Cheile.

The first Covid-19 vaccines to be administered in a Kildare nursing home were given today, and Curragh Lawns resident Philomena Creaton was the first in the county to receive her jab from nurse Betty Bergin.
Her fellow resident Ray McCrosson was the second person in the nursing home to receive the vaccine, which was administered by HSE vaccination team member Deirdre Lane.

Plans are in place for the HSE to deliver the first dose of the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine to all HIQA-registered long term care facilities for older people over the next three weeks. The programme has commenced a week earlier than originally scheduled.
