ANN ARBOR, MI – One unit was damaged when a fire broke out in an eight-story apartment building in Ann Arbor Tuesday night.
Fire crews were called at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, to Lurie Terrace Senior Apartments, 600 W. Huron Street, for a report of a kitchen fire in one of its apartments, according to the Ann Arbor Fire Department.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (WXYZ) â The wife of an Ann Arbor firefighter shared an emotional video of her husband s send-off from St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor Hospital in Ypsilanti.
Craig Sidelinger was diagnosed with colon cancer in July of 2019. On Tuesday, he was discharged from the hospital to home hospice.
The video posted on Julie Sidelinger s Facebook page shows more than 40 firefighters lined inside the entry to salute Craig as he was wheeled to the hospital exit.
Driver killed, passenger critically injured when van crashes into Ann Arbor Walgreens

At 3:56 p.m., Dec. 23, 2020, a van crashed into the Walgreens at 3255 Washtenaw Ave. killing the driver and critically injuring his passenger.

ANN ARBOR, MI – An 82-year-old Ann Arbor man was killed Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle left the road and crashed into an Ann Arbor Walgreens.
Otis Jones suffered fatal injuries on Dec. 23, when he crashed into the Walgreens at 3255 Washtenaw Ave., according to the Ann Arbor Police Department.
Rescue crews were called at 3:56 p.m. for a report of a van crashing into the building. They arrived to find a van partially inside the building and balancing atop a protective barrier outside, according to the Ann Arbor Fire Department.
