Rolls-Royce Electric Racer Begins Taxi Tests
The Rolls-Royce ACCEL program, short for Accelerating the Electrification of Flight, has successfully completed its initial taxi tests, an important milestone prior to first flight. The airframe is based on the Nemesis NXT homebuilt, which was designed as a Reno air racer and 10 kits were put into the world. According to Rolls-Royce’s minister for Business, Paul Scully, “The taxiing of Rolls-Royce’s ‘Spirit of Innovation’ forms part of an exciting new chapter in aviation as we move towards its first flight in the spring. Set to be the world’s fastest electric plane, this pioneering aircraft highlights the value of close collaboration between industry and government. The UK is committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Through government grants for research and development, we’re championing innovation in the aerospace sector to meet this ambitious target as we build back greener from the pandemic.”

Michael Greyeyes (
Wild Indian, Rutherford Falls, True Detective) has been cast as the character of “Rainbird” in the upcoming reboot of Stephen King’s
Firestarter; the character is described as “a relentless powerful man who has been pushed into a violent life”.
The project is currently in the works from Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions and Weed Road Pictures.

As of right now, there are a lot of Stephen King adaptations that are currently in the works â both for the big screen and small â but few are as exciting as the developing remake of the 1980 novel
Firestarter. The film is set to be produced by Blumhouse and directed by up-and-comer Keith Thomas, and it was reported this past summer that Zac Efron has signed on to play the role of Andy McGee â a young man who has to go on the run with his pyrokinetic daughter while being pursued by a government agency known as The Shop. Now, fans are just waiting for the project to progress further and start adding more names to the cast, but while we exhibit some patience, I figured that Iâd have a bit of fun speculating about actors who would be great fits for the key roles.

Itâs not an easy thing to complain about just given the quantity of adaptations weâve seen going back to the mid-1970s, but the truth is that there are plenty of characters who could easily be the subject of their own on-going network, cable, or streaming program â and Iâve filled this feature with proof of that fact.
