New traveler responsibility pledge educates visitors about taking care of the SIerra

To protect and preserve vulnerable ecosystems and residential communities, regional visitor bureaus have joined forces to focus on educational tactics that reinforce the importance of mindful, responsible travel. To encourage stewardship and offer specific actions that visitors can take to help protect Lake Tahoe, surrounding communities, wildlife and the environment, a new Traveler Responsibility Pledge will be introduced this spring. Composed of six tenets that align with primary sustainability initiatives of the region, the pledge outlines actions visitors and residents can do to immediately reduce their travel related impacts.

South Shore waiting to make 4th of July fireworks celebration decision

STATELINE, Nev. - Earlier this week the Incline Village Crystal Bay Visitor Bureau (IVCBVB) announced they were canceling its 4th of July fireworks display for the second consecutive year due to ongoing pandemic concerns and heightened summer visitation concerns. “The COVID-19 impacts on the health and safety of our visitors and residents alike continue to create uncertainty in the planning and execution of this traditional vent,” said Andy Chapman, president and CEO of IVCBVB. “With our experience of high visitation in the Tahoe Basin last summer, the Coalition thought it prudent to take a step back to look at the event’s effect on our region as a whole.”

Incline Village residents give feedback on mobility hub

lgriffo@tahoedailytribune.com INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. Many Incline Village residents shared their opinions on a possible mobility hub over the past month. The proposed mobility hub could possibly be constructed at the old elementary school site, although the Tahoe Transportation District said they are open to considering other locations. However, many residents spoke out saying they felt they weren’t being included in the process and TTD was acting in secrecy. For the past month, TTD has hosted four workshops which were meant to inform residents about the possible project. On Friday, March 5, TTD board members Alexis Hill, also a Washoe County commissioner, and Andy Chapman along with Executive Director Carl Hasty hosted a listening session.

The Exeter appoints chief executive | Mortgage Introducer

The Exeter has appointed Isobel Langton as chief executive of the health and protection insurer. Langton has over 30 years’ experience within the insurance industry and joins from Royal London’s intermediary division, where she held the position of chief executive. Prior to this, she was group customer service director at Royal London and has also held senior roles within Scottish Life and Irish Life Assurance. Langton replaces Andy Chapman and she will begin her new role in April 2021. Chapman detailed his desire to retire in February 2020, however the coronavirus pandemic delayed finding a replacement, according to The Exeter.
