After some rain and snow flurries Sunday, Monday is looking to be calm and just below freezing. According to the National Weather Service it is predicted to be mostly sunny in the Cedar Rapids area with a high near 28 degrees. There will be a low of 15 degrees Monday night, with increasing clouds.
In general, the week’s weather is predicted to have high temperatures hover in the 20s and 30s. There is predicted to be a chance for snow on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

The first shot in Iowa was documented by a few journalists, including Vanessa Miller and Andy Abeyta of The Gazette. At 9:39 a.m. Dec. 14, Miller tweeted a five-second video of David Conway, an emergency room nurse at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, receiving the historic shot.
