SKOKIE SYNAGOGUE MEN’S CLUB TO HOST ZOOM PROGRAM ON HISTORY OF JEWS OF LATVIA The “Jews of Latvia” will be discussed at a special Men’s Club program at Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation, 4500 Dempster, Skokie, Monday, July 19 starting at 10:00 am. The special speaker for the program is Ilya Lensky, Director of the Jewish Museum of Latvia, which was established in 1989 to commemorate and research the history of Latvia’s Jewish community. Jews have been in Latvia since the beginning of the 16th century. This talk will focus on their economic activities and education as well as the political and intellectual pursuits of the entire Jewish community.
