The RCMP should do more to help those who feel threatened or coerced by foreign governments, including China, to come forward, according to Commissioner Brenda Lucki.
Lucki s comments to the parliamentary committee on Canada-China relations come after pro-Hong Kong activists in British Columbia say they were threatened online and told by police there was little authorities could do.
Lucki noted that, though the RCMP has a 1-800 number for reporting threats to national security, by the sounds of it, it sounds like we need to do better communication.

This marks an important step forward in returning water supply reliability to south-of-Delta farmers, local communities, and wildlife refuges.

said Commissioner Brenda Burman. “Dam safety improvements at B.F. Sisk are gearing up; now is the time to take advantage of this opportunity and increase water supply in San Luis Reservoir a win-win for the many that benefit from San Luis Reservoir water.”

Water bills would help fix subsidence damage: A package of water bills passed Congress this week that could offer hundreds of millions to improve San Joaquin Valley water deliveries. Folded into the same bill that will be offering COVID relief was the government s annual spending bill that included funding approval for key local canals and dams. Significantly it includes $206 million to rebuild 33 miles of the Friant Kern Canal and monies for the repair of the westside s California Aqueduct and Delta Mendota Canal â all facing reduced capacity due to subsidence- the sinking of land caused by vigorous water pumping nearby over the years.
