CSAH 13 project bid summary approved | News, Sports, Jobs

fbusch@nujournal.com NEW ULM Brown County commissioners approved a bid abstract summary for a concrete overlay project on CSAH 13 between Hanska and 220th Street, near New Ulm on Tuesday. Action came on a motion by Commissioner Scott Windschitl, seconded by Commissioner Jeff Veerkamp. Work is scheduled to begin on or before June 7 and take up to 60 working days to complete. Bids were opened Feb. 24. The project will be funded with federal, state aid and Local Option Sales Tax funds. The county highway department sent paperwork to the low bidder and Minnesota Civil Rights Office and waiting for approval of the low bidder’s DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) application and State Workforce Plan.

Deschutes County gets state OK to begin vaccinating K-12 educators, staff Expects to vaccinate 2,500 this weekend; child care providers, seniors to follow BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Deschutes County announced Thursday it has received approval from the Oregon Health Authority to begin providing COVID-19 vaccines to local K-12 educators and staff. The approval signals the start of vaccine delivery to residents in Phase 1B of the state’s vaccine framework. Deschutes County and St. Charles Health System said they expect to provide vaccines to 2,500 K-12 teachers this weekend. The county and St. Charles are coordinating with local school districts and private schools to notify employees directly and provide instructions on how educators can schedule vaccine appointments online.

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS Walton County commissioners didn t hold it in Tuesday, urging the executive director of the county s Tourist Development Council to move quickly toward acquisition of property for a public restroom in Grayton Beach. “We needed bathrooms down there yesterday, Commissioner Danny Glidewell told TDC Executive Director Jay Tusa, who came to the commission Tuesday for guidance on potential acquisition of a number of small tracts along and near County Road 30A. The road is a popular beachside route for tourists staying in Grayton Beach, Seaside and other resort and residential communities along the route. “We definitely need to make the Grayton property a priority, said Commissioner Tony Anderson.
