The woman who leads local Democrats is calling a vote earlier this week by the all-Republican County Board of Commissioners, âa small, petty decisionâ when they declined to appoint a Democrat to the bipartisan county jury commission, and instead left the position vacant.
Judy Daubenmier, who chairs the Livingston County Democratic Party, issued a press release (posted below) following Mondayâs meeting of the county board in which they approved incumbent Nancy Sauvage, a Democrat, and former commissioner Bill Green, a Republican, to the county jury commission, omitting the name of Democrat Dane Morris, despite the fact that all three had been nominated to the panel by Chief Judge Michael Hatty.
Kenworth seeks to build test facility at its Chillicothe campus
CHILLICOTHE- Kenworth Truck Company announced its intention to build a new test track facility on the northern side of its Chillicothe campus Monday.
A new 110,000-foot, $45 million building would allow the company to test new trucks, said plant manager Chris Davis at Monday s county commissioner s meeting. Currently, this function is done either inside the current facility or out in the weather, and they want to put everything under the same roof, said Tammy Eallonardo, director of Economic Development for Greater Chillicothe and Ross County Development.
Along with taking weather conditions out of the testing scenario, it will also free up space in the current facility, creating additional room to expand products or to change procedures.

President Biden’s new plan to fund American public programs is by taxing the wealthiest Americans. It’s not a question of if they should, but how much. Yet the question that is never asked is, “Why do we deserve their money?” The seemingly overlooked answer is we do not.
Elon Musk, for example, is a producer. He invented PayPal, made Tesla an industry leader and is taking humankind to Mars with SpaceX. What have you and I done that is comparable? He, just like many others of the hated “1%,” create products for society that you and I never thought of or knew how to create.

Westmoreland commissioners said Wednesday ballot drop boxes likely will be placed in several locations throughout the county prior to the May 18 primary.
The total number of boxes, their locations and dates they will operate have yet to be finalized, but plans are expected to be announced in a week to 10 days, commissioners said.
“We need to make sure we have the proper places, location and workers,” said Commissioner Sean Kertes. “I’m not going to put the cart before the horse. I want to make sure everything is in line and we have everything we need. Let’s get everything together, and we’ll come back and make a determination from that point on.”
