Nitin Gadkari, the Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways, recently informed the parliament that the Delhi government has provisions to offer vehicle scrapping incentives under the purview of the Delhi EV Policy. According to a PTI report, he noted that scrapping incentives of up to ₹7,500 per vehicle for auto and light commercial vehicles are being provided by the Delhi government as part of the provisions of the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2020, which was announced on 7 August 2020 with the aim to boost the adoption of electric mobility solutions across the city.
