Former gubernatorial Loren Culp files to run for Congress in District 4

KXLY April 21, 2021 2:47 PM Erin Robinson Updated: REPUBLIC, Wash. Former gubernatorial candidate Loren Culp has filed paperwork to run for Congress in Washington’s fourth district.  Culp, the former chief of the Republic Police Department, ran for governor in 2020, but lost to incumbent Jay Inslee. He never formally conceded and in the weeks after the race, made allegations of voter fraud.  He sued Secretary of State Kim Wyman and several county auditors, but dropped the lawsuit after the state threatened legal sanctions for making meritless claims in court.  The fourth district which covers Douglas, Okanogan, Grant, Yakima, Franklin, Benton and Adams Counties is currently represented by Republican Representative Dan Newhouse. He has held the seat since 2015.
