The family of Karla Deen Kellogg would like those who knew and loved her to know she passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021. As she had hoped, she was at home, surrounded by her family.
A viewing will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, 790 S. Haskett Street, in Mountain Home on Friday, April 23, 2021, with a viewing from 10:00AM to 10:45AM and Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Mom was born July 25, 1941 in Alamosa, Colorado. She attended school in Manassa, Colorado, graduating in 1959. Her parents, Jack Emerson Garland and Mary Ardeen Brady, supported Karla, their oldest child, in her many adventures. She enjoyed being a drum majorette for her high school band, and an attendant to Miss Stampede, in Monte Vista, Colorado.

Yet when we contacted fifteen major colleges and universities across the state to find out if vaccinations will be required for students signed up for the fall 2021 term, we discovered that only two have issued a mandate so far: Fort Lewis College in Durango and the University of Denver, which made its announcement on April 20. One week after being stunned in the final minutes of double overtime in a 1-0 home loss against nationally-ranked Colorado School of Mines, the Fort Lewis College men’s soccer team got another chance against the Orediggers on Friday.
