Man collapses, dies in North Adams

ADAMS TWP. A man collapsed on a Hillsdale County street and died, but police do not expect foul play.
Michigan State Police of the Jackson post reported the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Monday in Adams Township, Hillsdale County.
Troopers were dispatched on a report of an unresponsive male on the sidewalk near the Rainbow Mist Car Wash in North Adams. Upon arrival, troopers found a 67-year-old from North Adams had been walking on the sidewalk after visiting a local convenience store when he collapsed.
A cause of death has yet to be determined but foul play is not suspected. The investigation is being conducted by the Hillsdale/Lenawee County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Michigan State Police Jackson post. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Fire departments in Pittsfield and North Adams will each receive a slice of $2 million the state made available for fire education grants for children and older adults.
