The tour of Five Sisters Zoo in Leeming Bar Grange care home A NORTH-Yorkshire care home was given a virtual tour of a zoo hosted by head of education, Adam Welsh. Leeming Bar Grange car home was shown the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at Five Sisters Zoo and explored the vital conservative, rescue and education work being carried out there through the presentation. The session explored the rescue stories behind four lions and five European bears, before highlighting the Eurasian beaver conservation work that is also carried out at the zoo. Adam Welsh said: We really enjoyed being able to show the Barchester residents some of the fantastic animals we have at Five Sisters Zoo, we are very proud of the work our brilliant teams do.
NO FUTURE is the brainchild of Adam Welsh, who produces and performs as himself in this livestreamed performance from Camden People’s Theatre in London.
The meaning of the work’s startlingly miserabilist title reveals itself only gradually as a brave journey into the mind of one man and, through him, into the workings of the human brain itself.
At one point TS Eliot is quoted: “Time past and time future … what might have been and what has been … point to one end, which is always present” and it’s a clue to the play’s meaning.
While memories, imagined futures, physical realities and dream-like sequences may occupy the brain’s space in any number of infinite and arbitrary formations, it itself is grounded in the present and knows nothing at all of the actual future.
Erie s Independent Alternative Publication Turns 10 A Reader retrospective on a decade of issues, and the people who made them happen by Ben Speggen
Ten years ago, on what would have been an otherwise quiet Monday in March in Downtown Erie, Pennsylvania, a crowd began to gather in its heart. As the people poured into 1201 Kitchen, drinks began flowing out from behind the bar and food out of the basement kitchen below. There was music buzzing. But so were conversations.
The chief indicator of what was the topic du jour: Copies of a new newspaper strewn throughout the restaurant and clutched in the hands of those talking.
