The majority of councillors are supporting a move to formalise a possible change in chambers with a few wanting to open it up to the public if necessary. Ashburton: Whatever it Takes has occasionally been the subject of ridicule in recent times, appearing on a handful of lists of one of the worst town slogans in the country.
It seems the district s community leaders unanimously agree that the district s catchphrase for more than a decade could do with some rejuvenation.

The boss of a water co-operative in Mid-Canterbury believes the onus is on its farmers after a controversial irrigation scheme renewal was given the go-ahead.
Replacement consent for the Mayfield Hinds Valetta (MHV) irrigation scheme was granted after an independent commissioner released a decision last week.

High school basketball team, community show support for coach on his way to surgery

DENISON, Iowa. (KMTV) - A girls basketball team in the small town of Denison, Iowa gathered bright and early Friday morning with signs and well wishes. It wasn t game day, the show of support was for their coach, Adam Burns.
Burns was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and on Friday, he made the trip to Omaha for surgery.
For those who know Burns, there s one word that comes to mind: selfless. From the day he entered this community, he bought into this community, he s a leader, he s an amazing father, he s an amazing husband, Nick Bradley, a colleague said.
