PITTSBURGH - FeelNu Medical Spa and Wellness Center LLC, a spa in McKees Rocks, faces charges from a Rochester, Minn., woman who received second-degree burns during a laser hair removal treatment at the spa, according to documents filed Feb. 26 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
Plaintiff Coryn Thomas-Porter visited FeelNu in September 2020 for laser hair removal treatment. Thomas-Porter suffered second-degree burns to her face, neck and chest area, injuries that have significantly impacted her ability to work and quality of life, the suit said.
The plaintiff is suing the spa for one count of negligence, potentially including inadequately trained employees or failure to remedy faulty equipment. She is seeking damages exceeding $35,000.

MOORESBORO â An autistic senior at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy is headed to Northwestern on a full scholarship after a perfect score on the ACT.
âWhen I came to Thomas Jefferson as a freshman, I lacked confidence. I was an isolated and socially-awkward kid,â recalled Padraig Harris, a soon-to-be Gryphon graduate who is now headed to Northwestern University with a full-ride scholarship. âToday, I feel that I have come into my own. I feel smart and liked, and I am excited for the future.â
Harris, who earned a perfect score on the ACT (American College Testing, used as a standardized test for college admissions) and is ranked in the top 10 of his class, has found âa matchâ through Questbridge, a national nonprofit that matches high-achieving, low-income students with some of the best schools in the nation.
