Courtesy of AIT Beginning in Fall 2022, Colorado State University’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department will welcome graduate students from the Asian Institute of Technology, who will study with CSU faculty known for their expertise in water resources. The department has developed a dual degree master’s program with the international postgraduate school in Bangkok, Thailand, to train grad students in hydrology, hydraulics, water quality and resources, and environmental management.

The programme was addressed by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and AIT President, Professor Eden Woon, according to a press release issued by the Yunus centre. Professor Faiz Shah, Director of Yunus Centre at AIT, the Academic Head of Yunus Professional Masters Programme presented the details of the content of the programme. He said this Master s Programme is a one-of-a-kind Master s program, to translate the vision of Nobel Peace Laureate, thought leader in social business and enterprise-led development, Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Vietnamese wins ASEANO sponsorship for plastic pollution research

Thursday, 12:48, 11/03/2021 Nguyen Thi Trang, a Vietnamese predoctoral fellow at the Asian Institute of Technology and three other researchers from Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand have received US$30,000 sponsorship from a research grant competition of the ASEAN-Norwegian Cooperation Project on Local Capacity Building for Reducing Plastic Pollution in ASEAN. Trang received US$7,500 grant for her doctoral research on the impact of plastic litter on the seagrass communities in Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area in Vietnam. She will conduct her research over a three-month period. At the awarding ceremony on March 9, Norwegian Ambassador to ASEAN Morten Hoglund underlined Norway’s strong commitment to cleaning oceans and rivers, adding that it has been one of the country’s strongest priorities globally over the past few years.
