[Episcopal News Service] Tensions over the evictions of Palestinian families in East Jerusalem boiled over last month into 11 days of fighting between Israel and Hamas. Before agreeing to a May 21 ceasefire, Hamas fired rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israeli cities, while Israel launched airstrikes that leveled buildings in Gaza. Those attacks, along with clashes in Jerusalem between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police, reportedly left at least 260 Palestinians and 12 Israelis dead and hundreds more injured.

Academic activities have resumed at St. Claire’s Anglican Girls Grammar School, Offa in Kwara State following its temporary closure over an alleged demonic attack on its premises last week.
A statement by the school’s management, signed by Director of Administration, Offa Diocese, Anglican Communion, Venerable Augustine Oguntebi, said ” Since the occurrence was spiritual, a group of priests led by the Bishop, Rev. Dr Olusola Akanbi, visited the school on a prayer walk on Monday, May 31, 2021 and prayers were offered to sanitize the community as well as for the students and staff.
“To douse the tension, the school was closed for the day, but it was not a total shutdown as erroneously reported in the media.
