News that local Hunts will still be riding out over the Christmas period, despite cancelling Boxing Day meets, has strongly divided public opinion on social media. Hunts which have pulled the the plug on town centre meets this Boxing Day, because of the Covid crisis, include Croome, which traditionally gathers in Pershore town centre, and Ledbury, which traditionally gathers outside The Feathers Hotel in the Herefordshire market town. Both meets usually attract hundreds of tightly-packed onlookers which, in a time of Covid, cannot happen. The Worcestershire Hunt, which also attracts large crowds, will not be meeting on Boxing Day in Droitwich, for the same reason; but at the time of going to press, it had not been announced whether that Hunt would still be out on December 26.
