The King’s cousin and Memphis Mafia member Billy Smith agrees saying in 2018: “Most the time ‘cause he wanted to! It might be something he saw on TV or it might of been something that bothered him.

During the Elvis Birthday Proclamation Ceremony, managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises Joel Weinshanker took to the stage to celebrate Elvis, but also to pay tribute to his grandson Benjamin Keough who tragically died last summer at the age of just 27-years-old.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - After the first three tours for Gracelandâs virtual experience sold out, more tour dates have been added.
Graceland officials said the tours sold out quickly among digital tourists.

The guided tours are two hours long and give a behind-the-ropes look at various parts of the Graceland campus, such as the mansion, the Lisa Marie jet, Elvis Presleyâs Memphis entertainment and exhibit complex, and the top-secret Archives facility, where Elvisâ personal items not on display to the public are stored, according to Graceland officials.
In a 2018 interview with Lorraine, Lisa Marie said how Elvis had piles of spiritual books kept in his bedroom and office.
Both rooms are upstairs at Graceland which is totally off-limits to the public out of respect for what was The King’s private space in life.
Lisa Marie said: “He always had books stacked up high next to his bed and they were all religious. If you go up to his bedroom, there’s a little office connected.
“And there’s just nothing but books of every religion…a million bibles. He was constantly searching and he was very connected to gospel.”
