Amid India s battle against the second Covid wave, the arrival of three massive cryogenic oxygen tankers from Thailand at Hyderabad s Begumpet airport should come as a big relief for Telangana to supply medical oxygen to patients.
These tankers are being brought by a defence aircraft that was flown from Chandigarh to Bangkok where the tankers are being loaded. They were then flown to Hyderabad.
NEW DELHI: Now all vehicles carrying oxygen tankers are being treated at par with other emergency vehicles such as ambulance for priority clearance across road networks. Sources said vehicle owners can also put identification marks for easy recognition.
“This is being enforced strictly across all toll plazas and all such vehicles are escorted by police. The law doesn’t prohibit such vehicle owners to display prominently that these are carrying oxygen. Such identification may help in the long run for seamless movement of these vehicles,” said an official.
