The government has quietly established a transfer zone for foreign shipping crew in a busy commercial area in Auckland.
Crew are transferred from international flights or a short MIQ stay to a non-descript shed at Tamaki Marina, before being ferried to ships waiting out at sea.
The operation's in place despite Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern expressing concern about the continuation of some crew transfers.
