Elderly care homes in Chile began vaccinating their residents and workers Monday, as part of second phase of a national vaccination program. The first person immunized was 79-year-old Laura Areyuna, a resident of the Nuestra Señora de Andacollo care home in La Serena, a northern region of Coquimbo, some 460 kilometers (286 miles) from Santiago.
